Dr. Jennifer Howard was born in Ajax Ontario, a rural town near Toronto, in Canada. In 1995, she graduated from Bishops University in Lennoxville Quebec, and in 2003 she graduated from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. As a child, her devotion to animals developed through the love of her family pets, and she often tried to sneak stray dogs into the house for love and TLC without her parents noticing! She had dogs, birds, rabbits, and fish as a young child, and by the age of 10 started working towards saving for her first horse by selling lemonade on the curb in front of her house.
